Online gaming to be self regulated in India? How will this help the end user?

article image placeholderGovt proposes self regulation for online gaming companies: Things to know
Hello swell. Wish you a happy new year. Well, today, you know, there was news about the government stepping in to enforce minimal regulations in the online gaming landscape. I have always wondered, whenever I see these advertisements for rummy, online casinos, et cetera, about how, rather what the approach to regulating this landscape would look like or if a lot of people would end up wasting money or losing money before the government stepped in

So I can relate to it with my relative kids and the youngsters where they usually spent lots of time over there. But I'm not seeing anyone who spent money. But even spending time over there also is something that needs to be monitored or regulated. It is getting actually making the people audited to it and we need some policy around that. Thank you. Bye

Government cannot come and save their money every time. Right? So if you can see these online gamings and the casinos and everything as a gambling, I would also say Shattereding is also like that. We cannot stop that. Shattering is also purely like that. So it's up to you to decide where you're spending, how much time you are investing. So let's educate our kids on what this is. That education is very important. Government cannot come and help you with that

So it's government's responsibility, I would say. Recently I hear thermalod government passed a law in state assembly to ban online gambling and passed the file to our beloved governor and he is not convinced yet by the reasons provided by the thermodynamic government. Also, I hear that there is a huge lobby going behind this as well on not to ban. But still I have a confidence that sooner when I wake up, I will see the ban news. Like how we demonetised Rs500,000 notes

And I'm just hoping that this doesn't become an esport because I heard that esports have also been formalized, right, as a sport category and a lot of e gaming now people are going to enter into championships, it's been recognized as sport and there will be international championships with people competing. I'm just hoping that gambling doesn't enter that phrase. See, I wouldn't like to use the word of depravity here, but I'm at a loss, really

I can turn RS500 into 5000 because as kids you don't know better. So I really hope that the regulation has teeth, so to speak, because take Sevi, for instance. Sebi knows so much and they can actually do a lot of things if and only if they are given the power, right? And the evolution of how they were allowed to point at criminals but not do anything about them to having slightly sharper teeth and then being able to at least jail people. That has taken so long
