My Fave Audiobooks of 2021 (so far!)
It's part mystery. It's part thriller and comedy. It made me laugh. It made me cry. And whoever reads the audiobook is absolutely amazing. I definitely recommend not only reading this book, but listening to it if you get the chance

Next up is The Art of Memoir by Mary Carr. Mary Carr is an incredible memoirist and listening to her talk about not only how she started writing memoir, but also so advice to begin and keep going was incredible, especially because she has this truly remarkable Southern drawl and is hilarious. Definitely recommend checking this book out

Several years ago, I had read the beginning pages of the novella. I am Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout in a writing class, and I thought, you know what? I don't know if that books for me. I just it seemed a little slow to start, but for whatever reason in it has always stuck with me. So I finally decided to give the audiobook a try, and I was completely enraptured by this book. I think I listened to it in one day because it's Cinderella

I know many people who have said they can't imagine listening to classics that they think it would be too difficult. But I loved listening to this one. I highly recommend reading it and listening to it. I surely am going to go back and read the print copy when I get a chance as well. Now

My introduction to the author, Jacqueline Woodsen, was through her book Another Brooklyn, a number of years ago, and it completely astounded me. The language was just absolutely gorgeous. So I was so excited to listened to read At The Bone a few weeks ago. I loved this book almost as much as Another Brooklyn. It didn't affect me quite as much, and I do think it's partially because I found the narrative a little harder to follow listening to it

Thank you for listening to these minireviews. I would absolutely love to hear if you've listened to or read any of the books that I mentioned and any recommendations you have for audiobooks or anything that you're reading currently. Look forward to hearing more

I have seven to read for our next book club. And I'm just like, I don't even know. I'm so lost on how many books I have to read because I just got thrown a few books by publishers and I'm just feeling not a little, but a lot of book overwhelmed, especially with podcast and everything. I think I'm on clubhouse now

So there is a chance that I will not be able to make a books club next week if I can't finish the book in time. But I'm really going to try to push it because I'm really interested in the book and want to be there. So I'll definitely keep you posted
