There’s an empty sky

article image placeholderUploaded by @nourishyou
Some numbers numb us. seismic shifts spasm the synapse collapse our computing shutters come down and humbled we bow in a hole that calls for more than a moment of silence. But it's not. Not enough to comprehend the suffering. There's an empty sky. pleading cries call for answers, but apology is not forthcoming. hopelessness falling is the only rain. Silence settles. In aftermath, the emptiness of pain multiplies and that quantum is too heavy to bear

Wow. I felt this in every inch of my body. Your words and the way you paint the picture of what tragedy feels like and what the human spirit deals with in trying to sort out that confusion and pain and suffering and paying special attention to the ones who are left and what their burden is. And I'm just in awe. And thank you so much for this. It was stunning

The title of your piece, there's an Empty Sky, and then the line hopelessness Falling is the Only Rain. Oh, my goodness. Oh, my goodness. You are amazing. I love your imagery. It is always striking and stunning. What I enjoy so much is that you paint these pictures, and and I resonate with that so much because, as you know, I love to paint pictures with words. And so your words, they strike me

Oh, I resonate with the two comments here so much. We need poetry to lift us from the statistics and bring us to just a more exquisite connection to the pain so that we can literally, at a molecular level, change our consciousness about it. And you've done that for us in this poem. It's just beautiful

It forms the quality of the light within which we predicate our hopes and dreams towards survival and change. First made into language, then into idea, then into more tangible action. Poetry is the way we help give name to the nameless so it can be thought. The farthest horizons of our hopes and fears are cobbled by our poems, carved from the rock experiences of our daily lives. I think that perfectly sums up this journey with our art, whether it's poetry or music or visual art, anything

Hello. Thank you so much for this. It's such an amazing quote, actually. And I think you subscribe to the Marjolinian. I recognize the quote bubble there. I just lean into that twice a week. It's so beautiful. I'm going to post I just heard the most exquisite rendition of a bach piece for the victims as well right now at the philharmonic with my family

I feel like it can touch on this very broad human spectrum, but at the same time, it really focuses into that very personal experience of rising out of darkness, coming through the struggle. And even coming through the struggle, there is just the vast the vast emptiness and the suffering. I'm deeply and profoundly impacted by this piece of yours, and I take it with me on this journey. Thank you so much for sharing it

I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed listening to that quote, the conversation, and watching that YouTube video. I feel really honored that this piece has just sparked this moment here on swell. I feel really inspired. Thank you so much
@CrusaderWarrior

Was this inspired?

All right. Just listen to the poem and yeah, that was actually a pretty good it sounded like something I got up a TS. Eliot book. Something like something that was on the wasteland. Yeah, I thought it was actually pretty good. It was very well written. It sounded put together. It had a nice flow to it. And, yeah, I enjoyed it
