Conversation about this right here. Because we really need to know why. Is it Elvis getting targeted like everybody else

I mean, now we got to remember the fan base is very old. Not that there aren't younger Elvis fans, but the majority the lion share. They're not going to care. They've got every Elvis record. There's nobody really playing. I mean, well, he does have a serious I think there's an entire channel on Sirius XM, so I guess the big go to would be to pull the channel down. That would be the move
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 4:37
Yeah, it's crazy. We said that because both of my parents are from the south. My dad is from Georgia, and my mom is from Mississippi. Not matter of fact, not too far from where Elvis was born. I grew up with my elders telling me all the crazy s*** that Elvis would say about black men. But my thing is this my mom told me that at her time she's 80, 81, something like that. I forget

I know Pock was accused of rape and stuff, so I assume it's something tied to those events, but in either case, they already did their time. I think Pock did some time. I'm not 100% on that. I know Rick did. So it is odd when you see this selective morality, selective canceling is always kind of interesting now, obviously, I'm a white dude, so I can't really address. I can acknowledge it
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 2:09
It's just that what really infuriates people like me is not that it's happening, but that people won't even acknowledge that it's happening. And they always want us to act like we're just making this s*** up. And that's what p***** me off more than anything else. Hello

I think there's documentaries out there where you can see he's completely set up. It was all about money. It's all about money. Just people trying to bring him down. I'll fight that Michael Jackson team all the way, man. There's no way I wouldn't even watch that documentary. That last documentary that came out. In fact, I was falling out with people over there, so I think they should leave everybody alone. These guys, they just done nothing but good
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 2:06
So Elvis is not no hero to me. He was racist. He didn't want nothing to do with black men, except according to him, shining shoes. And that's cool. But I can't mess with Elvis, but I'm not knocking anybody if a person is in the Elvis, that's cool. But my question is, why are they not going after Elvis? Like they're going after Tupac? Like they're going after Rick James?
Mark Francis Rahaman
@MarkR · 3:21
I mean, Elvis stayed with him when he was training for Joe Fraser in camp. His backing singers, man had nothing but good things to say. And people bring the question up and they say no. His Cook. There's so many stories. His Cook was black. He bought her a house and paid for it. And the stories of him buying people that were black, just random people, Cadillacs and stuff. And he was always giving cars away
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 1:53
So it's no surprise that James Brown would stand up for anybody that's being f***** over, you know what I mean? Because that's what he did. But I trust my parents and my elders a lot more than I trust any of those people because they grew up in the same time period, less than 40 miles away. They saw first hand, the Elvis, the non public Elvis, the Elvis that didn't have his PR people behind him
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 1:30
I'd be willing to say that you take a whole group of men. I don't care what profession they come from. Dignitaries, world leaders, everybody. And I guarantee you if Ali and Elvis walk in the room, everybody is generating and everybody's going to Ali. That's just bottom line. No, Ali was not friends with Elvis. As we think of friends. People hear you say friends. They think, oh, they hung out and they went to
Mark Francis Rahaman
@MarkR · 2:01
I've loved Ali born man. Like Elvis. These guys, they've got something, Ali I love. I changed my profile. I met Ali. I got to meet one of my heroes, man. So I changed it just now. I've got some photos with Ali. That's one of the great. I'll never forget it. And that's another story. But they agree to disagree about this. But I think they should leave them all alone
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 3:08
Elvis covered Big Mama Thornton's song Hound Dog. But that's what it was. That's what the entertainment industry was. They were ripping off all Blacks. I'm not blaming Elvis for that. He didn't make the system up. He was just a player in it as well
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 1:17
And anyway, it just boggles my mind. Why would my elders and all of the why is there such a different opinion of Elvis, one opinion that's basically coming from people outside or entertainers or people like that, the people you were mentioning and then the other camp is those that grew up around him and actually knew Elvis and heard of him and grew up in the same area with him. And we're constantly hearing stories about him. Why would my elders make this stuff up?
Mark Francis Rahaman
@MarkR · 4:48
But that's what he wanted to sing. And he did. And there was people like Frank Sinatra and people like that that hated it because at first because you've seen people breaking records and saying, right, we don't serve black customers or we don't play no Elvis music. And there's another way to look at it that he was doing what he wanted. And he was expressing himself because he'd seen people in the Church moving like that and expressing themselves
And so a lot of people are shocked because her public persona, or at least the persona that they really Ham up on the show is that she's this incredibly caring person and she loves everybody. And if you need to talk, Ellen's there, right. And in reality, that is a persona. It was crafted by storytellers. And that's not to say that she hasn't done a tremendous amount of good. She obviously has
Mark Francis Rahaman
@MarkR · 1:03
Hey, I meant good conversations. Not good. Congratulations. Yeah. I'm gonna I found the quote that I was talking about, and he said I might be spreading fake news. This was the quote that Ali said about Elvis. Anyway, there's another one. Callie. Yeah. Interesting point, man as well. But it goes both ways. You've heard things. But do you know that person personally? Because anyone can say anything about anyone
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 2:38
And you guys gotta excuse me right now making myself a little lunch. But you know, all that being said with Elvis. I don't hate the man. I don't think he's evil. I don't. I keep everybody in their humanity no matter what they've done, no matter what they've said or done. It doesn't matter whether it's a bunch of dumb s*** coming out their mouth or not
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 1:16
But one of the ladies was really a mean b**** in real life. But of course, her image was all American mom. And it seems like that it's like that with a lot of entertainers. It's like the ones that have these images of where they're just fine upstanding, pure and all this crap. They turn out to be the biggest dickheads in the world in the world in real life. But that's the magic of Hollywood
Mark Francis Rahaman
@MarkR · 3:26
And it's funny because it was like that kind of made me feel good in some way. Isn't that interesting? So this is completely removed right from the person. But somehow the work that they were doing was making me for because I knew he was cool and I liked him in the movies. He's hanging out with Brown people. So that made me feel good. So that's funny, right? Yeah
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 3:23
Yeah. Yeah, that is. That is a little funny. But you got to remember, though, those movies were made by Hollywood, not Elvis. Elvis didn't write the movie or directed or anything. So. And it's the same with Kali. Goon was talking about Ellen DeGeneres and who I like. And that's another one. I got to be honest, just based on her persona, I've always thought she was nice
Mark Francis Rahaman
@MarkR · 5:00
I got to meet Ali, and I had a bunch of pictures taken with him and with my arm mounted him, punching me. That's my profile picture him punching me in the face. And we chatted a bit. I told him how much I loved him, but when I walked in, it's the only time it's ever happened. I could not feel the floor beneath my feet. I was walking on air
Mark Francis Rahaman
@MarkR · 4:59
I said, I don't think, I said to my wife, I don't think I know there's a person on this world that's touched so many people in so many ways, but touched them right down to their heart in a loving way. And then he passed. And the exhibition was still on. We went back there. There was a ring set up and we went and sat in the ring and watched the funeral. Boy, did I climb my eyes out there
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 4:30
And I'm thinking to myself, s*** that's comparable to pretty much anything Mike Tyson did. That would be almost like Mike Tyson knocking out Holly Berry in their primes or something, something similar to that, somebody who's really beloved. But they managed to sweep all that type of stuff under the rug back then. They controlled the media back then, so stories didn't get printed if they didn't want them printed
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 3:17
You give me George, and you could pick any other heavyweight you want from any error from any time in their prime outside of Ali and who you got, who you think is going to do damage with George, remember, he blew out. He annihilated two top ten heavyweight Champions of all time, two all timers, annihilated them both in two rounds apiece. So, yeah, that's my little story. Meeting a celebrity. And I thought he was pretty cool. He was a personable person
Mark Francis Rahaman
@MarkR · 4:54
It's funny, though. There's some funny things a few years back before. Two things. One of the Kings. I was saying, hey, have you seen this when we were Kings to this girl who is about 27, 29 now, but this must be about 25. And I said, it's alley. George Foreman. And she said, the grill man. Yeah, the grill man. She fought the grill man. She didn't even know he was a boxer
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 4:14
I assume he would pick them apart, but with the style that Jack had, I just don't know what he would do to I don't know how he would. You're going to have to take punishment with George. That's just it. That's it. I don't care who you are, how good you box in his prime. You're going to take punishment from him before you even have a hope of winning
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 2:04
This was right after George fought Jerry Cooney, and he was 100% in shape and ready to go. I remember when Ali said that about George, and he was right. He was right. Ali was 100% right. There was no way. Once Ali saw George was serious and the form that George was showing when he was older, he knew he knew for a fact there's no way Mike is beating him. No way. Not only that, that's not even going around
Mark Francis Rahaman
@MarkR · 3:48
He wasn't sure about his chances against him. But listen to what you're saying. That really shows Valley with something else. I mean, apart from all his skills and his intelligence, he had boxing intelligence as well. He just had something else heart, something like something different that nobody else really has. Like George, he would knock him out. He swore he knocked out the out and he would just wake back up
Mark Francis Rahaman
@MarkR · 1:55
Yeah, I didn't realize Ali said that. Well, you know, I'd like to go back and watch that fight with you. Write about Ali. Titan can only fight coming forward. So what's going to happen when he's getting here? Interesting, man. A fight. We have Holy Field as George Foreman. That was a h*** of a fight because he went back and forth, and that just showed Holyfield out because he's small
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 3:46
He would excel with anybody because George is going to it wouldn't matter what type of person what type of style you put in front of George. The only thing that matters is George is going forward for the knockout he's coming to inflict pain, period. But I'll put Holy field up there. No doubt Holyfield. He got the heart. I think Holyfield could have competed with Ali

Hello, you guys. I mainly am chipping into. Thank you for conversation that's educated me. And I'm talking to you from the west of Ireland, Ireland, and God, what do I know? I just know that I was listening the night that Cassius play beat Sonny Liston, and I thought Liston was going to be that champion for God knows how long he had beaten in Mario Hansen. And I was a kid, and I liked boxing, never did it
Mark Francis Rahaman
@MarkR · 0:30
Hey, Paul. Good to hear you again, man. I was just thinking, I haven't heard from you for a long time. It's good. I was wondering when you were going to turn up. We've had this is my first day off the platform. I've had quite a conversation. Is that right? I don't didn't have Mtwadamela. That's a cool name. So, yeah, we've been talking about Elvis and Paul
Mark Francis Rahaman
@MarkR · 0:06
Hey, there, Zackie. And how s it going, man. Good to hear you here as well
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 0:28
Hey, what's up, Mark? And I'm sorry, I can't, Saul and somebody else I can't, but the correct pronunciation of my name is Mtwo. De Mello. Or you guys could just say Entwal for short, because I know that it can be a little bit much. So you all could just say entwir for sure
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 0:07
Oh, Dazakian, sorry about that. That's how you pronounce it. Gazakian. What's up, fellas
Average Joe

Alright. So I'm sitting alone in the car while my woman does something for her work. So I got like, a couple minutes and I didn't get to go through this whole thread because, God d*** you people talk, talk a lot. There's one thing I wanted to add I left off and I don't know if it's been covered already or you've advanced past what I'm about to say. And then you can just be like, shut up
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 2:48
And you know what, Joe? That's actually, you know, I did mention that earlier in this conversation, you know, because it's it's impossible to separate the man from his time from the times that he was in. You can't separate none of us from the times we're in. We're all shaped and molded largely by the times that we live in. I mean, that's just the way it is
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 0:16
Yeah, I know. But the conversation went kind of left. We were talking about Elvis, and we ended up talking about boxing, which I don't know how it went that way either. But I mean, it's still, you know, good. Will say she's
Mark Francis Rahaman
@MarkR · 0:23
I'm sorry guys. I can't agree with you, even if you did come from south in that time, there's too many articles debunking their story. And there's too many stories of him mixing with black people as a kid, all three teens all the way through his life. And all of them have got something good to say. And those are people who knew him. So I can't agree
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 2:01
And that's just the effect of slavery and plantation mentality as far as I'm concerned. So if anything, that makes me even more because why is it that there's so much effort in trying to debunk something that was common knowledge during the time? I mean, it was common knowledge. People were who they were at that time. There's way Elvis escaped all of that. There's no way, man. He was in the south. Have you ever lived out here in the south?
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 3:22
Look what happened to Larry Holmes when he said that Rocky Marciano couldn't carry his jockstrap. Look what happened to him. So if you want an example and Larry was just telling it real, telling how he really felt that they wanted the politically correct answer was to say, hey, yeah, Rocky's the greatest because he was dead and he was undefeated. So he was supposed to bow and kiss the ring of the great undefeated white fighter. And Larry didn't do that
Hello. Yes. Yes. You can say Zaki without the M because M is the surname. There you are. Zaki. Zaki. Almost like Zack, but with Yay, not the end. Zack. A. It means Jack in Arpitten. In the famous language. We are very few to know 50,000 people are, nevertheless, not bad, is it? Okay. So see you around. And nice to get to know you on this new app. Bye
Mark Francis Rahaman
@MarkR · 3:54
Hey man. Hey. Alright. Alright. That was a bad. That was a bad example. I knew it was when I put it up, the Elvis Presley. Thank you. Sadly, David Jr. Okay, I get that one. But. But David Brown, man, James Brown was friends. They were friends, man. I mean, he would go and sit and sing. He said he would go sing and sit with Elvis and sing gospel tunes
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 0:44
Yeah, Mark, that was a that was a real bad example. That was a real bad example. But as far as him and, you know, James Brown, I'm sure if you ever came out here, you would see it's. The leftover effects from slavery has a lot of black people that were it really doesn't surprise me that if anybody would speak highly about somebody like El of this or even say something nice about him, because that's basically what we were taught to do
Mark Francis Rahaman
@MarkR · 4:43
That made me laugh because the people joke with me like, I talk a lot. The other night, I said to my wife, I want to do a podcast, but I've got nothing to say. And she said, what you've got nothing to say? Yeah, I've got nothing to say. I found something to say. But the thing is, there's another joke that runs with my brother in law. He's like, yeah, what are we talking about?
Mtwadamela Ijogo
@Mtwadamela · 1:10
But most of my free time is reading or watching or studying it. And the style of combat that I practice, it teaches adaptability. So we adapt. We keep it moving. So it was really nothing. I know we got off topic about Elvis, but it's still a good conversation nevertheless. So you take care of yourself, bro, and I'll see you on some more sweat. Swells. I'll be starting some more crazy swells here in a minute. All right, bro
