How to read a book ?
This happened to me with Orwell's 1984, where I just couldn't focus at all the first 200 pages. But after that, I just completed the book. I just sat and read it. And that's when you realize why certain book are certain books. There's a reason certain books are recognized in the way that they are. There is something that sets them apart

The only time I kind of did not finish the book and starting something else was when I was reading The God of Small Things by Arundhatiroi. And I just couldn't get past the middle section. And I said, okay, this is a barrier. So I kind of put it down, left it, and after I had finished the other book all the way through, I came back to it and then with a renewed focus and a fresh energy and tried to go through the rest of the book

Yeah, and by the way, I missed one other thing that you covered in your post, which was about reading in public places. So I have realized I prefer the bedside quietness over anywhere where there's just too much distraction. So public places, I feel very distracted if I am in park or any open area. But fortunately here where I live, I can go for nice hikes and I often carry a book I'm reading at that time with me

And book sales are what you say are the practical proof of that because a lot of predictions had come out saying that once Kindle was out, like physical copies of books would just decline. But the opposite has happened. A lot of people want to read secondhand books or like cheaper versions of books, especially in a country like India, where buying a book for 600 is not a viable option for most of the population

But yeah, I just wanted to share this with you because only because after listening to your swell did I realize that I haven't read this book and I should. So thank you. And the picture, the book and the topic, I think they all go along in this very a photo that you see. Thank you

But to close, I will say that my father always told me in order to read a book very fast, to start at the beginning, then go into the middle, and then
