If there are any young people out there who are interested in a career in aviation, my advice to you is to be prepared to spend a lot of money to get to those 1500 hours or you serve in the military. That way the taxpayers foot the bill for you to get all the training you need. That's up to you, of course. So here's my question for this swell cast. Based on that information, does knowing about the airline pilot shortage make you not want to fly?

If we fly to Los Angeles and back to Toronto, it'll be like exceeding the amount of hours we have to work so we don't actually have to do this. And so they got up and left the plane and then we spent 3 hours on the tarmac while the airline searched for two more pilots to come fly our plane. And I did not love that, I got to say. So praying for a safe return to normal staff, employed pilots, a normal amount

I did fly in the Air Force. I flew in F, have hundreds of hours in a single engine aircraft. I have about 350 hours or so in multi engine retractable landing gear aircraft and have about 450 hours in jet time and aircraft. So it takes many years. It takes someone who has you have to be an intelligent and analytical person who can focus, who absolutely loves to fly. If you don't love to fly, you're not going to learn how to fly

And maybe we need to have a different structure of our world where we pay more attention to their triumphs, their accomplishments, their extra training, and become more aware of their personal lives. I know Southwest has a lot of features in their magazines, but we need to humanize these pilots. I, for one, definitely feel more nervous, for sure
