What Rituals Keep You Feeling OK? Yasmin De Giorgio keeps it simple, social and sacred

article image placeholderUploaded by @DBPardes
It has a big sky, right, that doesn't feel clamped in, at least when I read it. I feel like there's so much potential, so much possibility. Yasmine, let's talk about community and its connection to our individual spirituality. Sometimes we have images of people sitting on a rock and being really close to their spirit, but I think the work you do is really about connecting each other into some kind of woven fabric that is community. And in that connection comes a certain spirituality

Like, let's be a community that supports each other and reflects back to each other the importance of the soul and the qualities of the soul which are unconditional love and acceptance. That, for me, is the essence of spirituality and the real base that we need to be able to seek individually for our freedom and happiness

@Yasmindeg food as an entry https://s.swell.life/STee0GRkKxmfmVs

You're speaking of the spirit and the soul and the sense of belonging, but can talk a little bit from your perspective about food as an obvious starting point, because I know there's no chicken and the egg and the entry points are multiple

Yeah, I mean, food is the ritual that we're doing every day, consciously or unconsciously. And it's the ritual that we can't really escape. We might not have time to meditate or do other formalized rituals, but we're eating either alone or in community every day. And I think it's really beautiful to just use what we have in front of us as the entry point

And we we did this meditative thing in our own way, all of us, thinking about our own higher power, and it was amazing. And I'm somebody who more and more, as I get older, I get so into this idea of Sangha. So I love this conversation with all of us, and thank you so much for contributing it. Yasmin really lives into her beliefs, and I feel like even this conversation is a Sangha. So I'm grateful for your presence here. Thank you

The second thing is that I either run or walk every single day. Usually I run, but as I'm getting older, I'm interspersing more walks in with that, which are also lovely. And the third thing is that I read every single day. I'm a poet and I read some poetry every day. And at night, before I go to bed, I read something that is not in any way work related, that is just for pleasure. Something with a plot
