Holding kids in from recess or keeping them in detention, or even school suspensions, or in school suspensions are ceremonious at best and don't create enough discomfort for the student to rethink their behavior. School beliefs need to develop a healthy fear of authority and consider what they're going to lose if they continue with the behavior teach them now, although they'll lose later in life
