I opened a little box, and in it was what looked like the ring that had been stolen, tiny little emblem from McGill with the little rubies and the tiny pearls. And I couldn't believe it. And I said, how did you get this? And she had also had from my grandmother, a tiny little pin with the same gold emblem, and she put it onto a little gold band. So she recreated the ring also from 1920, that was owned by my grandmother, um, me

So a gift that does that same thing, but with this new layer of, like, it was just like the one that you'd lost, and it still represents this lineage.
