Thank you Cicely Tyson

article image placeholderCicely Tyson Dies
The movie was based in 1962 when they were interviewing her and she's 110 years old. But she talks about her life as a slave through reconstruction, through Jim Crow. And one of those roles that's kind of heartbreaking. I mean, tragic as was Sounder same thing. And then you go to Roots, where she played Kunta Kinte's mother, another tragic role. So she played some of the toughest, I think, the most difficult roles in Hollywood in the 70s

And some people believe that death is not the end. That is just ascending. And that would be what I would like to think for her that she's not dead. She's just ascending and she's in a better place where things are not like this. You don't have to wear a mask. You don't have to worry about any of this virus thing that's going on

But I do remember that by the time Roots came around and what was the thing she did about Harriet Tubman, a woman called Moses? I was actually, like, excited to see those because I knew Sisley Tyson was in it. And her portrayal of Jane Pittman had been so memorable. I was like, this is going to be a good show because she's in it. She's just that phenomenal an actor
