Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960 and the need for amendment!
Imagine your pet dog being killed and the murderer gets away with just a 50 rupee fine. That would certainly enrage me and a lot of other pet owners. But why is this trending now? Because in February of this year the Union Ministry officiates proposed some amendments for the 60 year old law. As per the proposed draft, an act caused by an individual or an organization that leads to the death of an animal could face a penalty of up to 75,000 Indian rupees or triple the cost of the animal
