Meditation - is it worth the hype ?

article image placeholderUploaded by @Pragati.chopra
Other parts of Europe caught on and with the influence of yoga spreading into Western world, meditation became less about spiritual enlightenment and more about relaxation, inner focus and self improvement until it evolved into the practice we are all familiar with today. And it's notable that many of the most successful people in the world steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey etc. All are practicing the art of meditation. There have been countless studies showing the health benefits of meditation. Not only it nurtures you physically but also improves your mental health

So whatever you said is absolutely right. Until or unless we understand the thing and the things that we get out of it or the benefits that we reap from it, we don't actually show any kind of interest in doing those things and all. So that is the reason, I guess you really showed us why it is important. And I really loved the title Meditation is it worth the Hype?

In our fast paced life, practicing the very authentic type of meditation by the book, by the scriptures, may be difficult. So if somebody can develop the simpler part of it, and when they are confident that they can move to the authentic one, it becomes easier for people. So this is what I have figured out as a meditative practice, and my focus area is gratitude

And when we speak about, you know, yum is basically about the food and he rightly brought out that food actually affects our mind. So there is a nerve called vagus nerve. This is the only nerve which connects back to the brain. So whatever we eat, this vagus nerve gives a signal back to our brain. So you'll find that if you drink lot of coffee, it makes you jittery something like that. It is the vagus nerve responding to your food habits
