Busting Mental Health Myths - Part 1
Hi, and welcome back to love, live, learn. As quoted by World Health Organization in recent years, there has been increasing acknowledgment of the important role mental health plays in achieving Global Development Goals, as illustrated by the inclusion of mental health in Sustainable Development Goals. Depression is one of the leading causes of disability. Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death among 15 to 29 year olds. People with severe mental health conditions die prematurely as much as two decades early due to preventable physical conditions
And another is like we only need to take care of our mental health if we have a mental health condition and if I talk about the fact it's not like that. Everyone can benefit from taking active steps to promote their well being and improve. Their mental health. And not that. Only when a person have a mental health condition and live. If I address another myth so poor mental health is not a big issue for teenagers and they have just a mood swing
Thanks, Kavya. You have brought in so many additional myths as well. We are actually doing a series on mental myth busting, mental health myth busting. So I have shared around three or four of them already and we will continue to bring in more this month because our idea is to ensure that we are bringing awareness around myths surrounding mental health and there are so many of them. So thank you for chiming in and stay connected. Stay tuned
