INVISIBLE ILLNESS | Introduction & Quote

article image placeholderUploaded by @hope
But I think in this space in where the light gets in, when we talk about stuff that we don't talk about normally in other places, I think it's a perfect opportunity to explore what it feels like to have an illness or have several illnesses and how you move through life, how you cope, how you find ways to get up in the morning, who do you enroll in your life?

Whispers are heard as shouts inside empty houses I walk in circles, digging holes into the carpet as small electric numbers flicker signifying every moment of worry with each integer an emulation of the passage of time. How many scars does this body hold? Too many, I think, as the values weigh me down, cast over me by others. A quilt made up of foreign silks that scratch against my skin. I am too weak to shed it completely

It's like you have to deal this on your own. And then also if you are in a kind of a nuclear unit wherein you're taking care of a child with husband and wife or spouses together, if there is a problem coming along, who do you discuss it with? It is going to be your significant other and that not necessarily be a good choice because it might be related to their issues. So yeah, everything adds up

#Voice

A good doctor is one who is open to their patients, listens to them, follows up on what they say, and performs tests and procedures to treat and identify the cause of our complaint. Not to simply dismiss one as uninformed and who doesn't know anything about why they are in the office to begin with. This dynamic has to change and it changes with us. It changes through our voice

Being someone who has invisible illness, like in my neck of the woods, a lot of folks think of abyssal illnesses, post traumatic event or post like situation, to which you have now, like a permanent ailment. Like, you have to go to dialysis or something like that. Or, you know what I'm saying? Like, you got in a car accident and now you have to have special amenities to use, bathroom, things like that. Okay
