The Illusion Of An "Open Mind."

article image placeholderUploaded by @FryedOreo
So what if I were to tell you that keeping an open mind towards things is quite different from always being open minded and being closed minded probably is what kept us alive as a species. But at the same time, also being open minded is what kept us alive as a species for all of these years. I think when someone says that they are open minded, they are actually closed minded

Being informed vs Claiming to be informed.

Let’s be ‘flexible to consider things that are reasonable’ 😂 @FryedOreo

And then obviously there are just some things that will never be considered. Am I going to kill somebody? No, not doing that. So, yeah, we always have these sort of really kind of polarizing options that may come up, that there was all that under the bus, but I think flexible. Let's be flexible. Let's be flexible to consumers that are things that are reasonable sounds so more restricted then be open minded anyway, thank you for this

Balance

For example, being open minded when it comes to trying new foods is obviously a good thing. I would say it adds to your understanding of the world and various cultures, and maybe you'll learn something yourself and be able to Cook in your own house. Whereas I knew plenty of people that would say that they were open minded when it came to trying drugs in College, I would not say that that is the best use of open mindedness

Thank you @realbriggster and @Taylor

Santia and Taylor, thank you so much for responding to this. Well, and I have a funny situation that occurred. This concerned somebody a couple of years back, we were talking talking about being open minded. And I even then kind of seen the fallacy of one who is open minded and claims that they are because there is always an inherent bias we all share, to which we will become closed minded upon certain things. It's just a natural stance
