Teacher’s Journal: What Resources Would You Recommend for a Newly Fatherless Teenage Girl?

Now, this is for a 13 year old girl. Now, I wouldn't talk all her behavior up to this. Like I said, the behavior is not very new. I met her father. He doesn't seem, well, you never know what goes on behind it. You never know what goes on in her life. But there are things she does have to be responsible for

You. That's tough, man. I don't know. That's a hard situation. Props to you for being so proactive about it, though, and concerned about it. Speaks highly of you as a teacher

I appreciate the response. I think in. In this case, I would not get involved with directly contact, communicating with the fathering myself. I don't have the capacity to do that. And I just think it steps over boundaries that I wouldn't be comfortable doing, both knowing the student, and just so early in that situation, my thought was, what resources can I point or suggest to the student's friend?

She needs to understand she's not alone 🙏🏾 #community #leadership #content #love #empowerment

We live in a world where there's just multiple layers of judgment, multiple points of feeling, not enough feeling alone. I can think back on my own childhood, and I would even argue that what children face today is far more extreme and pervasive in a way that even for 2030 years ago, I don't think was as bad as what children have to deal with now. And my heart goes out to her. To answer your question, I think it's a couple of things

So I the mentor may be the hardest thing to find, and I don't know if I can find that for her as much as maybe point her to resources in the school that could find resources that can align her with people in places that may pair with a mentor or find some outside organizations. I I don't have any people to suggest, but I definitely like the idea of immersing yourself, journaling, and especially the finding a safe space to share her true feelings. I like that a lot

@kwa A #safe #space is what girls wants 🙏🏾

And then even within that arena. Being able to have mentorship and leadership to help her work at whatever her craft or whatever her passion is, and be able to look up to someone who's doing that and who's able to share how that activity, that experience is enhancing their life. That's like, phenomenal to be able to have that dual function there
