And I guess I didn't. I related it to being very old. And when I was a teenager, of course, I didn't want to be old like that. And so I've lived with this name, but I always wanted my name to be much. I don't know, a prettier name to me would have been like Clarissa or can't think of others

I love. I think the name Ethel has such a nostalgia to it for certain people but I really respect your candor about it and how it didn't fit right for you. I have a friend who has a complicated name and when she goes to Starbucks she always chooses a different name just to hear how it sounds and how she responds to it.
