Nashville bombing - a developing story

article image placeholderExplosion in Nashville that damaged dozens of buildings is believed to be an intentional act
Morning. Swell. Merry Christmas. For those of you who are actively following news, just wanted to post this update about the Nashville bombing that happened this morning. Cnn has a good report on it that talks about how the bomb squad was on its way when the RV went off with explosives in downtown Nashville. Fbi has taken over investigations at this point, but I think this is a developing story and waiting to see who was responsible behind this

And the amount of damage that was done on that city block is pretty outstanding when you consider that the blast was from one RV. Yeah. I have no idea words right now

Hey, Taylor, you are right. The RV started broadcasting warnings 15 minutes before the actual bomb went off. Here is a USA Today write up from witness at the seen

Wow. Listening to that warning sent chills down my spine. Honestly, something really out of a film. There are really no words, I think, to describe that sort of thing. It's just the most menacing, unsettling sort of thing. I think that you can hear. And I can imagine that area was evacuated pretty quickly because the moment I hear something like that, I am running as fast as I possibly can in the opposite direction

What is the motive?

Yeah. I've been following this all morning, all afternoon and just trying to figure out what's the motive behind this. Why would somebody go to the trouble of building a bomb and then warning people not to or warning people to get away? Was there a business that they were targeting? It doesn't make a lot of sense. And glad nobody was hurt, but still just bizarre

@Phil cyberattack perhaps?

I think this is a very well executed plan to somehow not just bring down the communications, but I think as part of now going in and investigating what's happening in that building, perhaps there is a way to bypass security and install some sort of a device in that building. I don't know who has access to that building

Yeah. I have to say that, you know, doing a little bit of reading, I would probably draw the same conclusion that Sudha is drawing, but also failure. Right. I think that this is definitely done in a deliberate way to avoid as many casualties as possible. Like just simply airing with a warning like that. Like I said earlier, I hear that growing up in a big city, I am running the opposite direction

That makes a lot more sense. I didn't know there was an ATMP building. It was right there. That makes a lot more sense. Thanks for posting that
