https://app.swell.life/swellcast/VGqk. The SAW as music

It's great to hear somebody talk about their process, but in a very generous way, it wasn't just about his music and his recording. It was about how he moved through life and his commitment to sharing his work with others and his curiosity about how we all think and create. Here is the sound linked below. It's linking to a very specific part of other conversation where you'll hear the sound of the saw, and you can also scroll up and hear the entire conversation

https://app.swell.life/swellcast/6iVe oh the beauty of India’s holiday cult

And specifically when it comes to the pain of the pandemic, when we're trying to normalize this time in our lives, that we can bring in certain joys that we were used to and that are so part of who we are and how we identify as life to be. Right now, there's a new thread that was started about the beautiful holiday of Dasara, which has tons of different names. So you'll find that out because the user India has posted an article about it

@nona we are sharing the same shores

Nona. How can I not respond with that compliment? Thank you so much. And I am up in Los Angeles just a bit sorry, south of you. And the beach has been my refuge. And I'm happier on the salon. I have a lot of hopes is for us to be able to share all the things we're hearing on swell and break off into great conversations and different swell casts. And it's a great way to kind of drop into some beautiful thoughts and ideas

Hey, it's Deborah. Welcome to November. I hope this next month feeds you. And that's one great thing about great art and great indulgence of all kinds of culture is that we can float above some of the stuff that drags us down. There's a great conversation that I had with the founder of Wild People, and it has to do with longevity. It has to do with living in your later years with Mojo

But I wanted to specifically show you his swell cast that he's running, and he's talking about facts that he's learning while he's doing research on his show. So it's just kind of a behind the scenes way of getting to know someone who's doing a food show. It's kind of super special. So I'm going to paste here the conversation about his adventures. So here it is. And then you'd click his name and follow him

#artists #inspiration

Hello, this is Juliet Blake. I'm head of Television for Ted. Nice to meet you, Deborah. I have been very inspired recently by a lot of different African American artists, including Titus Kafar, Deborah Roberts, and Jerome La Garish. And I'm looking forward to talking to you

Juliet, so nice to hear your voice on here. I love Deborah's work. I discovered it in an article a while back. I think it was early COVID in the Times, but I don't know Tyrone or Jerome, so inspired now to go do some research. So thank you for those two names. And those of you who don't know Debra's Work. It's beautiful. And I think I'll find a link to that article I read and I'll post it here

It is November 13. This is the Salon. It's Deborah. I want to recommend a really great conversation going on about genome sequencing and what I love about it is a bunch of us talking and referring each other to things that were reading. And there's no one expert in the conversation, but we're all really curious, and it concerns all of us. And I'm looking forward to it growing. So please join us. And here's the link

Hey, it's November 17. It's Deborah, and I wanted to post another recommendation here in the salon. I have a little bit of a cold, so please forgive my voice. It's great to be imperfect on Swell. That's why I love this platform so much. I just listened to such an inspiring conversation between two College students, one who not only has a double major and works almost full time, but she also runs a company in honor of her sister, who passed

Glad you’re doing this!

Hey, Deborah, it's Tim in Berkeley, California, and I am very excited to have you curating conversations on Swell about culture and arts. This is a terrific idea. You so one is I would love to follow this particular Swell, but I don't think that's technically possible yet. Right. I have to follow the Swell channel. Oh, wait. Maybe by posting reply, I will get notifications anytime anyone post this channel. Okay, we'll see

Hey, how are you? I'm Mike G. I'm. From the East Coast, interior, Pennsylvania. One thing that has been quite inspiring to me as of late scene, I got to go back to my favorite newer metal band and in the 2000s era, System of a down with their release of two new tracks, they were supposed to get together and record a whole album. But there was, I suppose, some maybe creative differences between Surge Tank and the singer

So I'm going to link this wonderful sort of adventure he took us on, and I think it bodes well for a lot of us who like to talk about experiences as they're happening and share the visuals and really bring people into this immersive experience together. I'm super excited about the potential. So here we go

@KathyEldon Bounce back convo! https://app.swell.life/swellcast/Qm4s

Hey, it's Deborah back at the salon here with another recommendation of a conversation that started several months ago by Kathy Eldon. She is the founder and director of Creative Visions Foundation. And she's had some great insights into how how we bounce back during times of depression and anxiety. And she recorded this at the heart of the pandemic. And someone recently connected to the conversation and reinvigorated, which is what happens on Swell

https://app.swell.life/swellcast/74RY @bowie When do you leave a book?

I don't want you to miss out on this great conversation. If you are a book reader, a book lover, a literate person who likes to stay literate by reading books. There's a question afoot, which is, when do you abandon a book? And I like it. It's fun to listen to and I'm going to leave this swell. And then I'm going to close my phone and actually start a book called The World To Come by Dara Horn

https://app.swell.life/swellcast/h7hA Lyrics of Note! @GeorgieDee

One of the things I love about Swell is you have these ideas about what to use it for, and then all of a sudden new use cases come up all the time. And I want to share with you, Swell that focuses on some beautiful lyrics by a band named Bastille, and they're read by Georgia D all the way from Perth, Australia, and the ensuing conversation is all about what the lyrics connect to in terms of other cultural references
