The 2020 Masters

article image placeholdermasters-flag-2020-usatsi.jpg
If you haven't seen it, you should definitely look it up. He skipped it across the pond at 16 and rolled it in for a hole in one. Not just because of that. He's been playing hot him and Dustin Johnson, I think, are kind of in the same boat where they have been talked about as really the hot golfers this entire year. So I expect them to both get a lot of play

Hey, Phil. Yeah. Hey, I'm definitely tuned in to the Masters, as you know, I'm right out here in Augusta, so, you know, it's it's like the Crown jewel out here, like, you know, they're all all set up. You see, all the celebrities and all that. But you know what? I'm going to have to go against the grain here a little bit. I don't think Tiger is going to miss the cut

Yesterday, I saw that John Ron Holland one, and I feel compelled to link it here so that I other people can see it because it was just an awesome trick shot, one that obviously I don't think he was expecting to make, but given the fact that it was his birthday also yesterday, I'd be feeling pretty d*** good if I were him right about now

I assume there's just not as much traffic going through, but I'm wondering if there's still that buzz in the air, wondering how things are different from a typical Masters year. I know that I've done business in Atlanta during Masters weeks before, and it's always a different feeling

My Longshot Picks! Rose, Cantlay, Koepka, Reed and Matsuyama

Now in the intro, I mentioned a few people that I think will be the favorites and kind of the people that are projected to win this tournament with John Rom, Justin Thomas, Dustin and Johnson and DeShambo. I wouldn't be surprised if any of those guys actually win it. I'm rooting for Tiger. I like to see better play out of a person if I was going to actually bet on him, but I'm absolutely rooting for Tiger

Xander Finau Morikawa Day and long shot Kisner

I think he could do pretty well this week, too. Kind of my little further out there ones I like female this week. He's 33 to one right now, so I think he could definitely be right there. And then two other guys at 40 to one right now that I like is Moracowa and Jason Day. I think those guys are Morawa just hits the ball so straight with his irons, and I think he's got a good chance

Kisner and Finau...great picks

Hey, a place you know who I overlooked completely was Tony Fanau. I really like that pick. I think he can do really well. I guess I didn't see him listed, or I must have completely overlooked it because I thought he was out for some reason, or I assumed I was like, oh, he must be out because I didn't see his name, so I don't know, but I do like that pick. Yeah, we'll see about shoplift

Different Strategy - Same golfers :)

He's going to be taking lines. That probably over some very hazardous areas. And I just can't help but think one or two bad shots like that off the tee, and you've got a couple of triple bogeys or even a couple of double bogeys. And next thing you know, you're out of contention. So I'm laying off of that female. I usually always have them in there for whatever reason, I think I've got enough plays on this card

No crowd and other deep thoughts - By Jack Handy

Ford, for example, you may hit one in the drink like Malinari did on 16 last year, and the crowd actually cheered because they wanted those guys to fall apart and Tiger to win. So that's something you don't see on the PGA Tour very often, which I thought was very interesting. And to Phil's point earlier, I think we all we love to see Tiger on the leaderboard. I mean, who doesn't really. I was never a huge Tiger fan back in the day

Simpson Woods and poor Speith

So I'm really hoping he can put together a few more days, at least because to your point, it just makes it that much more exciting and all the golfers know it right. And I think what you actually said with Web Simpson is just spot on. I mean, it just intensifies everything a little bit more, and it certainly did last year just something really fun to watch. But as I kind of look through the leaderboard, I see a lot of the names that we've discussed

How about a little bit of a contest amongst you guys on this swell? Pick the player with the low score on Friday, the player with the low score on Saturday, and the four leading players going into Sunday, and then finally the winner

Hey, Phil, what did I tell you about Tiger? I told you, don't count him out. He's still Tiger. I'm going for Tiger this year. I felt that I felt that because he was playing bad. He might have just been working on certain stuff. And that's why his play was like that. But I'm not making any excuses for him. He played s***** pretty much this whole year. But look at how he's playing now

Mto. Tiger looks good. He does look good now, I will caution you. He has looked good on certain days in other tournaments this year. He just hasn't strung four days together. But as you mentioned, you know, maybe he's just been saying, saving himself for this. And if he's going to string four days together, it's going to be in the Masters. And I couldn't fault him for doing that

Here comes DJ!

When I look at the leaderboard, it's a lot of names that we had discussed from the onset, so hopefully a place and Schultz are doing well with their bets here. Rooting for you on those with Paul Casey and the lead. I know a lot of people are talking about that's where he usually is on day one. He won't be there on day four. We'll see. I mean, that remains to be seen

That? S why I'm with you. And wouldn't it be fun to see Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods go head to head on Sunday, at which point I would have to go Tiger all the way

Course firming up

It's been an interesting day and a half here at the Masters. You got the low scores yesterday due to the rain. I think the guys that teed off early this morning to finish their first round and start their second round had a slight advantage, probably on the folks going on off this afternoon because I don't think we're going to see any more rain. And as you can tell, the course is starting to firm up

Great insight @Schultzie

And it makes a lot of sense that this will tend to favor veterans here, moving into Sunday, really good insight and something to watch for. Thanks, Chelsea

Course and updates

So you're looking good right now, but a few of the others, I'm just hoping they make the cut. And then, like I said, hopefully teeing off early is going to come back and help them get back into right back in it. So we'll see should be good

Bryson missing the cut??

Well, this gets a little bit confusing just on rounds. So there's a lot of people that need to finish round two tomorrow. So you have round two and round three in the morning. Hopefully they get caught up tomorrow to where we can actually go into Sunday with a final round. And that should be the case with people kind of missing the cut. And, hey, talk about a guy that's about to miss the cut. Bryson DeChambeau is a favorite about to miss the cut

Is this becoming the DJ show?

Well, this is beginning to look a little like the Dustin Johnson Show. If he finishes up strongly here today, he's going to be awfully tough to catch tomorrow. So I think we're starting to see him pull away and just kind of put everybody else in the rear view mirror. And if he plays like he has all year, it's just not going to be a surprise

Hey, How's it going? I saw this at the top of recommendations for the Swell cast, right? I just hopped on this a couple of minutes ago, and I thought I'd ask the people here a question. Okay. How do I get into golf? Okay. I'm getting older. In this thing called life. I feel like as if this sport is a gentleman sport. And I think I'm a gentleman. And again, I'm getting older

Masters wrap

Oh, well, there's always next year, right. So overall kind of an anti climatic win for the weekend there. That's it until the Masters next year, as far as majors. So there will be some tournaments in between. But the Masters is actually the next major, so that's April seems like a long time. But there we go

@kylebhawan

Yeah, Kyle, as far as watching golf tips on that, unfortunately, the Masters was the last major of the year. So there's not a lot of tournaments to watch until the next Masters, which is in April. And as far far. But there will be a tournament on just about every week that you can watch. However, until the majors, you don't see a lot of the top golfers participating every week
