Swell Panel: Creating as a Mode of Loving People

article image placeholderCreating as a Mode of Loving Others
Hey, everyone in this webcast, I'm going to be talking about creating as a mode of loving people, in other words, using creativity, the art of creation in a sort sort of medium to show affection to another person or to other people. And the reason that I want to talk about this is because I feel like there's so much creating going on and there's no intent and there's no motive behind it

4 types of Love. @AndreWYZE @alexvinced @daliakatan @tysonwjohnston

So I've been setting on this post this question for a few days now thinking about what direction I want to take this, and I actually want to make an additional comment so that we can break this down a bit easier for everyone who's speaking and everyone who's listening

For me, creating as a way of showing affection and showing love is actually pretty straightforward with music, with poetry, it's something that I love to do. It comes really easily, whether it's my romantic partner or my family or my friends. Being able to express myself and create basically the feelings that I don't do the best job at articulating when I'm talking about them in a conversation or expressing them to someone comes a lot more naturally

Creating as a form of love. 💫🌹

Nico, thanks for this conversation, man. Absolutely necessary. And you're definitely the man to help us probe these thoughts personally. As I reflect on creating as a method of affection for other people, it brings me to the balance of how I show affection for myself. And I say that because most of what I do or create ends up being what I needed at some point in time

Introducing @MawaNaya

So I just met somebody incredible on a work trip to New York this week. Her name is Mawa. I wanted to invite her on to the panel as well to talk about this because she is so qualified to talk about creating as a mode to loving people. She studied something completely different than what she's doing now. And through an incredible series of events, she ended up creating her own production company

Thanks for putting us in touch, Nico. And I'm so excited to be having this conversation, and it's so important. And it's one that I wish I tapped into earlier in my career when I moved to La to pursue film. The pursuit was no more Noble than just assuming the style and technicality of everything, which in retrospect, is fine because you do need those skill sets to lean on once you are mature enough to tell more broad stories that are accessible to wide audiences

Agape

And as me being a project coordinator, the best way for me to show love to people and through creating is by putting myself in their shoes. Just as another gentleman actually expressed, I think it was Andre expressed that he kind of assists by putting himself in other people's shoes. So that's what I do when it comes to me being a project coordinator and hosting thoughts of an entrepreneur. I put myself in other people's shoes

Compiling Acts Part 1

And through a series of events and different art teachers, I gave up art because I was tired of being critiqued so much for the message that I was trying to portray. I was questioning my value and what I was creating. And I was like, you know what? If people don't want to just accept what I'm portraying in this message, then I'm not going to do this. I'm going to do something else where people are going to hear my message

The 2nd question

And that's why we get more and more of an imitation game in the world of creating. So my question for all of you as genuine creators who are showing affection for others and creating such beautiful narratives, is why is it so important for us to create? And what can we tell other people who are creators? Because I believe this starts so young? It's not difficult for a young child to be creative

Why is it important for us to create and what makes us qualified? Alright, Nico, good morning, guys. And happy Valentine's Day. So it is very important for us to create because we are all given a purpose on this Earth. And whatever that purpose is that's placed inside of you, if you do not use that gift, you lose it. It's as simple as that. If you don't use the gift, you lose the gift

Not discussed, but the 5 love languages is also super relevant here!

The love and that creation can both be better understood by the recipient and as a result, also strengthen the connection between the recipient and the creator. Bye

Creating to Unite?

I want to go off what you just ended with Dahlia, and that is in creating the connection between the creator and the recipient can be strengthened in our current climate. Right now, there's a lot of division, and there's a lot of people who are talking and saying things longing to be heard. But because everyone is talking and saying their own things and pushing their own agenda, nobody's actually listening
