Let’s talk about race, baby

And that is the result of disenfranchisement, of neglect, of lack of opportunity, of lack of representation, of lack of standardization of the societal norms that Trevor talks about, and that basically keep people of color from safety

I think those second thing that I would like to put out as a discussion point is two things that are coexistent together. One is white fragility and that is linked to white privilege, which is the inability of white people, even those who think they are good Liberal people to talk about race issues and the tendency to become offended by racial reality instead of holding themselves accountable and other white people accountable for racism

Hey, Mirja, thank you for this swell. Since we're starting out as a new app, I just want to point out that each swell is up to five minutes. So that's why you are cut off at the beginning. But you did the right thing to continue. And it was really interesting to really dig down deep into talk about white fragility because I thought that as a white woman, I feel very involved in my understanding of racism and how it's experienced

And this is finally, I believe, the only solution to the problem when we can look beyond what that which separates us and start to love one another for who we are and not ask for sameness. Do not ask for somebody to become you or to think the same as you or behave the same as you or speak the same as you, but rather just love them for who they are

#spiritualevolution

You know, our evolution on this planet as a species is actually peppered with several instances of divisiveness, several layers of divisiveness that we have brought between us on the basis of caste, Creed, religion, wealth, education, and whatnot. I also feel that this probably stems from a deep rooted sense of insecurity that always has compelled humanity to look at others as in a very competitive sense in a competitive framework

#needtoevolve

I hope we will all collectively be able to emerge out of this pandemic and also out of the larger pandemic that continues to afflict most of humanity that of racism, divisiveness, and so on by learning to evolve spiritually together as a species. She's. Thank you. Bye

White Fragility https://bit.ly/2Argkpo

Hi Nugent, thank you so much for this incredible post that just covered so much historically and also about this current moment. We're in as well. I just wanted to add that I do think it's incredibly important to call what we're speaking about white fragility and not just human fragility because of what is implied by the history of whiteness and the history of whiteness being used to weaponize and wound the woman who wrote the book White Fragility, I think explains it much better than I ever could

It is reflected in how majorities see and treat minorities, immigrants and asylum seekers as it is also present in the stereotypes the minority groups project on majorities as well. So ultimately, I believe it is the people of our country who will have to decide if their country will remain racist or not. And in order to make that decision, we will all have to avoid the trap of placing the burden entirely on the government or on a particular leader or leadership or the policies

So despite being this melting pot of diverse cultures and being built on being built by immigrants, I think America has a long way to go before it can achieve racial equality. Probably got to do to start with how America was founded. It was founded by displacing Native Americans just because the original colonial folks thought of them as lesser, uncivilized beings. And a little later it was slavery
