Who’s that one person that was a huge mentor in your life and helped you achieve your passions and goals?
What's up, everybody? It's Neil D. Back again with another film segment on film talk in Today's post, I wanted to talk about mentors and what they mean or meant to you and your life. My mentor was a gentleman who had a PhD in film, and he taught film at local College here in Connecticut, Professor Robert Polia, who would go by Bob. And he was known around the New Haven, Connecticut, area as The Movie Man

And then I also remember one teacher, Sandy Ram, who had she used to teach us about what we call social studies here in India, which broadly covers geography, civics history and the political environment, et cetera. And she has this beautiful way of teaching where she would just tell us to read up books on the subject and wouldn't necessarily stick just to the curriculum. And she introduced that whole world of exploring books about the subject rather than just looking at the curriculum

So I do owe a lot to him, too, because that really introduced me to writing synopsis and film reviews. So good old Mr. Petevilano, I used to go back and visit him, too. I think he's long retired now, but he was just this little short Italian guy, just friendly as all heck. And he really was a big film buff. And he would show us movies, like twice a week other than our regular curriculum
