Any Clubhouse members here?

And there are some rooms where there are a lot of people and something blew up yesterday, and there was a lot of fighting and all sorts of stuff on the app. People were getting really intense over it. It seems to be very cliquey. And however you say that clicky clicky. But I just wondered who else is on the app. Anybody else

What's your thoughts?

I need more information

So, Mark, I've heard murmurs about clubhouse. The most I know is that Kevin Hart was on there, and I guess it was a private conversation. I'm not really sure what it was. So. But I heard that thought that a lot of people were irritated at Kevin Hart because he had a bad stand up. At least they felt Kevin Hart, the comedian and actor

They're going to come back to the post all the time because they love her. So you got to do the same thing for you whatever size you are. You know what I'm saying? Where you create such an amazing content that they're going to look at you as the expert and whatever it is, it's pretty much like the other app that we were talking about stereo. But there's more people in the room and you can mute or you can do things. It's all live

Hey, Dewuan. So the above the buff comment is to you. I couldn't tag you in it, but because I added a link to I'm sure you've seen this before, but I put a link anyway to the to the app. What it looks like? Yeah, that's that's the Manhattan Melissa

But it's interesting that audio at least the growing trend I'm noticing, is that people are trying to take the marriage of live video with audio, and it can have interesting effects. Yeah, the Kevin Hart thing. I'm going to have to make a podcast about this Kevin Hart thing

@MarkR, @Wuandurful Just got on Clubhouse!

But there's also that concept of, hey, follow me here, and I'll give you more information here. And basically, that's how they're monetizing it. They're kind of marketing their business through clubhouse. I like the live audio format. Personally, I like it. It's going back and forth. Like when I ask a question, it's immediately answered. Like, for example, let's say I put out a swell, and then I'm waiting

@SeekingPlumb

So far, not a fan.

Also, then you have to make sure you're interacting in various rooms to try to make connections. It's very important the number of people you follow, as well as the number of people who follow you. And for different reasons, the number of people you follow gives you more options with respect to rooms available in your, quote, unquote hallway. So then who you follow becomes a curating process of deciding who is giving you the types of rooms that you want to see and who is not

@SeekingPlumb

The only thing with swell is that you wait forever and you hope someone will say something, and if they don't, that's the end of it. You what's your thoughts out into the ether, and that's where it stays and what you really want. And the reason you're here is for connection. I mean, the reason you are anywhere is for connection. And so the best platform I think that offers human beings connection and acceptance
5
@SeekingPlumb

@bookishpodcast

Is the lack of interaction because of the culture changing? Is it because there aren't many people? Is it because of the content I'm putting out there? Is it because of my personality? The list is very long. So there's this inner battle of wanting to be true to myself, the things I'm interested in, the things I want to talk about. But then it's like this battle of how does it fit? How does it not fit? Why is this not working?

The Waiting Game.. is so exciting! 😆 @bookishpodcast and @SeekingPlumb

It's a great lesson in how to engage the crowd in clubhouse. I can't really say outside of people I already know. I've never used it outside of that. So who's to know in the future what I could do, but I'm not giving up on it. I'll still try it out

I wasn't even on the stage, connected through Instagram, and now she is the latest guest on my podcast. And what we're doing, what I'm doing is I'm now going to host a room, a private room. It's not going to be open to the stage. It's only invite only to my clients. And, yeah, they're going to be like having after they've listened to the podcast

@SeekingPlumb @bookishpodcast @Wuandurful

Yeah. The other thing I like about it is the fact that the people that I'm connecting with, you know, like, I want to do this private room with this new connection. Who has been a guest on my podcast, is that she's already on the app, so I don't have to ask her to go anywhere else. It's very simple. It's very easy for us to agree a time, and then we can do it. So that's another good reason

Okay, I was recording, and I thought I was recording, but anyway, so let's start over. Hey, Mark, Christina and Dewuan. First off, Christina, I believe everybody offers something. Okay. Clubhouse is an environment where you might feel like, oh, my gosh. I don't have all of these credentials, and I'm just a mom or whatever it is. I'm sorry, but every human being has something to offer, a life lesson, stories
4
@SeekingPlumb

@MarkR @bookishpodcast @Wuandurful

I think it's also oriented towards people who want to expand or develop their networks, whether that's for their jobs or perhaps for their podcasts, it's a great place and a great way to do that. But if you're not interested in saying not just marketing yourself with respect to your job or your podcast, but with respect to why people might be interested in speaking with you or hearing you say something, it's not really conducive to that

A bit more info @bookishpodcast

So that's what I had meant to say by the intimate thing. So for me, having a live conversation with somebody who I care about deeply, right for me, I'm not just going to have a live conversation with just anyone because that is a different aspect of time for me. I'm giving my attention to someone just as much as I am speaking to someone. So this is where it's like my mom, my kids, mom, my best friend
7
@SeekingPlumb

@bookishpodcast

And so all of these people, then their opinions, their input was given a different weight than to those who did not have that kind of experience or background. I don't think that clubhouse is unique in this way. I think it's just more pronounced than it typically is. All of that to say, I think that we like to believe, or we do believe that everyone is valuable and add something to a conversation

Swell Time Vs. Clubhouse Time. @MarkR

Big tons of celebrities are using it. They're arguing on it. Tons of influencers are coming on there now. So it's doing big things, and I will keep a clubhouse, but I am more naturally a swell or anchor podcaster type of content creator. I need the time to build. I don't build in the moment like that. That's not a preferred style for me. It's something I can do occasionally, but I reserve that energy more for family and friends
6
@SeekingPlumb

@Wuandurful

I understand exactly what you're saying, Duan, I sort of think of the difference between Swell and clubhouse. In this way, swell allows you to have your space to say what you want to say and the amount of time you want to say it, no one's going to interrupt you. No one's going to cut you off. You have your space, and you can do it whenever you want
8
@MarkR
Mark Francis Rahaman
@MarkR · 4:31

Yes

So it's just going to be like a small room where we can all chat and it's private. And the reason I've got it as private is because I don't want any pressure from an audience outside of people that are in the room. So yeah. So I think we can use all these apps differently. When you said about the people, you're right, people have boosted up their profiles to sort of stand out a bit more. And there is a bit of that going on

So I clicked on it, and I did that. And then the person from the morning joined that window, and it's just kind of exciting. And then she's like, oh, yeah. Me and Chanel are doing this tonight. And immediately when she says, Me and Chanel are doing this, my credibility goes up, and it's just cool. And I'll be honest. I feel like I have some credibility on swell

Clubhouse experience

I rarely find things I want to listen to and the things I want to listen to. I'm willing to go on the app on that day and listen to that, but I don't just sit around on clubhouse looking for conversations. A lot of my friends who are more media savvy, are starting to be Ahmed to facilitate discussions on clubhouse and building a name for themselves by doing that. But that isn't my goal of being there

swell is better

Also, I wanted to add that the reason why I ended up on Swell is because a friend of mine on Facebook was interviewed on Swell, and he posted that he preferred Swell over clubhouse. And so I was curious as to what why he thought Swell was better experience. So that's how I ended up here. Fun fact

Yes, I am on clubhouse. And Ironically, when clubhouse was first introduced, I did not think that I would be a big fan of it. But as it turns out, I have been in some rooms and I've had the opportunity to have some wonderful conversation as well as meet some wonderful people. Not only have I met people with local profile, I've met folks with international profiles. I've met celebrities who have been on television and radio

And then there are times I'm like, we'll see, but in general, great app. I love the atmosphere. There are some amazing, amazing people on Clubhouse. Absolutely. And I've had some great conversations. Yeah. Absolutely. We're following each other, so it's all good. I hope you have a good day. And I'll catch you later. Bye

And I found a lot of really interesting people and they become guests on my podcast from Clubhouse, and I find that if you find somebody and they're talking about something, it's easier to connect with them, even if you don't speak on the platform, because you can go to Instagram and DM them, but it's not a cold call. It's not like you just coldly messaging somebody you've got something to talk about. You've got relevance
