What The F*ck are you reading?

And I just want people to read with because as a 27 year old man living in Vancouver, British Columbia, I don't have a lot of friends who enjoy books, okay? They don't enjoy peace of mind. They don't enjoy a story. And I hope that you. Yes, you whoever listening to this on Swell does. Now I host a show called what? What? What? What? The Fck are you reading network available wherever you listen to podcasts

Can y'all join my #book club?

@SeekingPlumb

Genres??

Hello, fellow Canadian. I'm probably the worst person to even answer this question because book clubs are so not my jam. However, I do read a lot, and I am always willing to offer some book recommendations if someone's interested. That said you didn't give us any ideas like no genres. Where do you want us to begin? Because I could throw all sorts of strange things in your way. But a little direction would be fabulous

I'm an open book

A seeking plum? Anything? Yo, I read everything. Honestly, everything. Just give me a title
@SeekingPlumb

Distopian, non-fiction x 2, sci-fi, & fantasy.

And to round things out, we'll throw a little fantasy in there. My current read is a Reread The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson, so that I can dive into the next three books that are now out. Or I'm not sure if the fourth one is out or in another week or so, but always interesting magic systems in there different ideas than you typically run into when you're reading fantasy

Thanks. Check out "Individutopia".

Yo, Yo, thanks a lot. Thanks a lot. That title actually reminds me of a book I just finished it's called Individual. I think I'm saying that right. Written by Josh Sheldon. I don't really read a lot of a lot of Scifi. I think I've only read Ready Player One and again, Individual. But I'm telling you, I'm telling you that was entertaining. Hey, thanks for the recommendation. Go, Canada

Thanks! ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Thanks for the Rec. I just read the description and I am intrigued

Tagging fellow readers on Swell- @bowie, @bookishpodcast, @wordsmith

And the second books, the one that I'm reading right now is Margaret Edwards, The Testaments, better known as the sequel to The Handmaid's Tale. I wouldn't be able to say much about this book as I'm just halfway through it, but I'm quite liking what I'm reading. It's dystopian hard hitting and dark, much like its predecessor, though not so much and literally have to be honest. But if Dystopia is your cup of tea, you would totally dig it

What's your favorite book of 2020? https://app.swell.life/swellcast/xkxe

Hey, Kyle, it's so nice to meet you. I was very excited to see you on here and learn more about you as a reader because I also love to read books and don't always have people to talk to them about. So a book that I finished recently and loved was against the loveless world. And actually, we recorded a conversation about it at bookish podcast and she posted about it here as well. And it's probably my favorite book I've read this year so far

Thanks you

Wow. Thanks to everyone responded to this. So many book recommendations. A. We about to take over the world. We about to change the world. A. A. If people spent more time on their books or on books rather than on these d*** apps, like the one we're using right now, just imagine what would happen. Dude, I sound like such a bookworm. It is what it is. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you

Shoutout The Alchemist

Yeah. Yeah. The Alchemist. That's a book that I recommend again. Everyone to read. I think it's a story that changes after every read. Real talk, real talk. That book changed my life. The second time I read it, it changed my life. I cannot wait to read that book again. Straight up. And this is love. Look at all these books

Running with Sherman. Born to Run.

He writes about long distance running, and he adopts a donkey, and he trains it to run in a combination human donkey race in Colorado. It is hilarious. He's a really good storyteller. I first learned about McDougal with his book Born to Run, which was a scientific look into ultramarath honors and why and how it's even possible for people to run 100 miles, 240 miles races. That is a fascinating book, whether or not you're into running

Ehh I'm always up for books on runners. Thanks.

Amen one love. Thanks for the recommendation. Ironically, I just finished a book called The Illegal, and it has to do with marathon running. And I'm also reading a book called Endure, which is what it's the science behind an elite athlete. And I think it's really focused on those who choose running as their sports. So, hey, I might actually f*** with this man. Thanks a lot, bro

There's another one about why we sleep, which I have not read but came very highly recommended about as my cousin says, it will scare the sleep into you. So I was like, okay, again. I own both books. I just have not read them. I'm really intrigued. I've heard such wonderful things about wanting to run, so if I ever get to it, definitely start as well. Thanks for reminding me about that. And your other book sounds hilarious

Book suggestion๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ“š

I'm loving this idea of a book close. Okay. I have a few ideas for you. If you're into fantasy, I recommend any book by Jacqueline Carey, specifically the Cushions Dart Series. I just finished it. It's good. It's got romance, intrigue, politics, fantasy. It's great
@SeekingPlumb

Yes!! @SoRetro

I love that trilogy by Jacqueline Carrie. Did you know it's actually a trilogy of Trilogies? But if you didn't know that, I will tell you this now, before you get excited that the second two Trilogies do not have the same characters, do not have similar storylines. They're enjoyable. But I have to say that the first trilogy was my favorite

Actually, no, I had no idea they were all the trilogies. I always hoped that she would do a trilogy with Haasyn's character because he was always my favorite. But I'm going to have to get those those and read those, too. Thank you for calling me. Bye

I just got back from the bookstore. Yay so many books, but I bought a Gentleman in Moscow Amor Toys. And I got Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, which I still haven't read. I've heard so many much about it. So those were the two purchases for me for today. And yes, I'm still buying books, although I'm way behind on all my reading. But don't judge me. All right. I'll catch you guys later. Bye

And then, of course, they even have what is the one, the Golden Compass. You know what I'm talking about? I haven't read it, but, oh, God, his dark materials. They have that one beautiful series. If you just want the Golden Compass alone, they have it in the collector's edition. It just looks. Oh, my gosh. Yes. So this is the best time for collector edition books for buying really cool, pretty books
