Isley Brothers VS EWF-Which group is better?

article image placeholderUploaded by @kimestryarts
So I'm curious if any of you watch the battle, if any of you have an opinion on these two super groups, I mean, the number of Grammys and albums between them is astronomical. The Eisley brothers have been making music for 50 years, for example. So what are your thoughts? What do you think about this versus battle? Did anybody else watch it Besides me

LOVED this event!

And like Summer Breeze, The Seals and Cross song, I think they just did such an unbelievable job. I also like Ohio that they did cross the Seals and Nash cover, but they didn't do that here, which is understandable. I don't know if that was the right venue for this to be played, but I found myself just really kind of thinking that the Eisley Brothers won the night, and I didn't think that I would have thought that going in

I did not see this, but I just realized I can. So I'm going to link the replay here on YouTube. There's part one and part two, but I'll just link part one. I just love this concept initially. Once I somebody told me about it, I was like, that's so mean, I'm not a competitive person. So I was feeling like, why would we have to do this? But I think it's a great idea

I can’t split them 🙏😀

My parents had a lot of parties, allegedly parties. They loved party, and they had a lot of friends who like to come and dance. And I remember probably about nine year old. I heard Boogie Wonderland. My dad had that he's got out 45 for a party. And I remember thinking, this is the best June I've ever heard. And I still love it. And also around the same time, I remember my mum absolutely loving who's that lady part one and two

Mark, I totally agree with you that it is impossible to say which one is better. I do think that Eiseley Brothers surprise you because they have so many more songs than you think they do. And whereas everyone is really familiar with EWF catalog, I guess because the Eisely Brothers have been around longer by at least ten years that people forget how many songs they actually have going back to late 50s early. Yeah. It's really difficult to really say which one is better

Isley Bros.

I think that I give the edge to the Isley Brothers because like you said, they have the edge when it comes to how long they've been making music. And not that you have to have more experience to be better. But because of when they started, I just love their music so much. I mean, their first album, Shout. I think that that sort of says it all

And this whole heart of mine is featured on that. Yeah. So it was just a funny I got this idea from hearing a piece of music. I'm going to just make a 60s kind of soul playlist. And I've got a few of these. But this was based around song. So, yeah. And this morning I woke up to some music and it's the 90s playlist that I made. And once again, the Ice League Brothers are featured on that

Actually, it is a 90s playlist. You know, it's all. Johnny Gill, when I was talking about the 90s playlist, Keith Sweat and all those guys, but actually, that's an 80s tune between the sheets, but it fits. It's just timeless, man. It's just good soul. And that sweet voice, that sound that they could just carry through every genre. It's amazing

But they did it better somehow, because they really love to dress up. And it would be house parties and the music. It was the music, the people, the food and the dancing. And it's very difficult now you just don't get there anymore. People don't have parties that are good. We have a good time in a bar or club or you take over a cool space and there's a DJ. We still have good times. But that was special

My night In Pacha https://bit.ly/3wvojKR

Alright, so I don't know if you if this will work, but here's the link to my live stream. The last time I was at that Club Pacha. And this was the nightmare that I'm just talking about it's. You see what I mean

The other thing I wanted to share is I don't know if you got to look at the comments when you watched the Versus Battle, but you have got to look at the comments because it is hysterical. A lot of black people specifically were criticizing how much Steve Harvey was speaking. And one of the guys, a couple of the people who were on the verses as audience members who were awarded comedians

Mark, I just watched your video and I love and I see this happen in parties to the energy surge when they start playing the James Brown tune. That is classic, classic. That is my kind of party. I'm not a big drinker to me when people say, let's party to me. That means dance. Party means dance. Party equals dance. So I appreciate that that would have been a lot of fun to be dancing

Interesting question, because I don't know if it really is fair to say which group is better. I think both groups are musically talented and gifted. Historically, as a matter of fact, Act, I live maybe eight to 10 miles from where the IZALI brothers actually were from in Teaneck, New Jersey, but if I had to in terms of preference, my preference would be Earth, Wind and Fire. I just like their style and their music better than I did right here

@AllenMarquis

Yeah. Like I said earlier, it is just an evil, impossible thing to ask us to choose between these two groups as wonderful as they both are. And I think even the people who do and host the Verzuz, they don't even speculate on who's better or encourage people to vote on who's better. I think it's really more of a celebration of the artistry and opportunity for groups who admire each other to come together and just have a good time

@kimestryarts Longevity+

You know, Kim, you had mentioned the longevity of the Eiseley Brothers, and I wanted to put this in perspective because I'm still having trouble fathoming how it's even possible. But, you know, they recorded Twist and Shout, and I don't believe they were the first, but they were the ones that popularized it. And then the Beatles covered them. So the Beatles covered the Eisley Brothers. The Beatles, who broke up before I was even born, covered the Eisley Brothers

Phil, I totally agree with you. Time is just strange, but it was interesting because on the verses Battle, Ron Isley did say that he is 79 years old. He just really looks good. I think music keeps you young. That must be what it is. Yeah. I feel like just listening to some Beatles interviews and things that they've talked about in the past and the Rolling Stones as well
