I turned 49 today. That ain’t old!

article image placeholder49 ain’t old, right?
And she was in her 80s when she came here for the first time. And I hadn't really traveled anywhere else. And I remember her talking about age and she's like, you know, I look in the mirror and I see a woman who is 90. I think she was 92 at the time, 92, but I still feel like I'm 18 years old

Happy Birthday! 7 TDs! 49!

Great to hear that sound. Great perspective on life. So salute. Cheers. Actually, I just got done watching cheers. I know you're a Boston guy, so cheers. I just caught an episode of it just kind of ironic there. So everything kind of ties together. Happy birthday. Bye

G****** it. I'm just saying in a general sense, you know, I'm speaking for the masses. I think we're doing better is all I'm saying. I remember thinking about this. I remember throwing an Atari Joystick in the hands of the parents or an uncle or something. And they were confused by a stick and a button. Now I'm confused by, like, 27 buttons on a controller. So we're doing better

I completely forgot to say, Happy birthday. So happy birthday. There one final thing that I did to myself. And you know what? If I got to suffer, you have to suffer. One night, I'm sitting here and I'm watching Family Family Ties reruns. Right? And it strikes me. I'm like, how old is Mr. Keaton here? I wonder how old this b****** was season one of Family Ties. He was 38 years old

I am achy this morning, oh ... and should we start a podcast?

Maybe given this is such a new platform, maybe we could be the guys that make it big and not make it big for the sake of Fame and fortune. But just make it big to get listenership and express our thoughts as the midcentury guys. Hey, Phil. Joe, let's call it the Midcentury guys. How does that sound? All right, I got to go have some

@joedimeo Reflections on the mid-30s

I had a lot of responsibility, and then there were just a lot of things I had to navigate on my own in my 20s, and so I still managed to have quite a bit of fun. But I felt like my teens and twentys were just full of so much responsibility

Well, I stopped doing that for several reasons. Life changes and all of that. And when you took tennis away, it's just been gaining weight. Everything creeps. My health isn't as good as it used to be, but it's a good perspective to consider that. Yeah, 49. Is it old? Is it not old? I don't know. Realistically speaking, I'm very aware that we're kind of mid century, right?

Here's more ...

Hey, Bowie, thank you so much for that wonderful commentary. So nice to hear a female voice first and foremost. And the fact that you're approaching your mid 30s. So it's wonderful. Yeah, good stuff. And yeah, you mentioned something that really struck a chord with me. That that idea of getting to a point in your life where you just start feeling that you're more confident and you're able to tackle things at a different level. And I totally agree with that

I spoke too much! It cut me off! Lesson learned!

So ultimately, if we want a better future for us and for our kids and for our world, that's something that needs to be applied to the young people of today. And we can do that by teaching them how to think critically and all that good stuff. So media literacy. I know that Deborah had posted something about coming to Boston for media literacy tour. That's really important, learning how to understand how to interpret the world around us

Just this conversation alone could make an excellent podcast because this is what life is about, really talking to each other, getting to know each other, going in deeper and really learning about life in general. So, yeah, definitely start that podcast. Also, what did I want to say you had mentioned about how you're like an average reader and you do a lot of audible. Now, average Joe knows what I'm going to do

#49 #birthday

Well, Congratulations. The turning 49 is not that big of a deal. And if you're feeling well, mental and physical, physically, I think that's what matters most. The only thing that I have to say about it is that when I was 49 last year, I felt that bending down on my knees hurt much more or less than I do now. Then I'm 50. But if you keep on practicing regular exercises, I think that you keep on having their full life

@bookishpodcast @joedimeo ☺️

Joe, when you mentioned about the you noticed if you're not stretching or exercising regularly, just like how much you can stiffen up or tighten up. And it has been hilarious talking with some of my friends of all ages just about that really needing to make time to care for one's body, just being so essential. I have a group of women who are all in their 50s that I'm pretty close with, and they share so much with me
