Adjusting the pressure to perform

article image placeholderCity and Colour | Against the Grain | CBC Music
And even when looking at what is required of me in order to go into College, so many extracurriculars and involvement are required to me and also really high performance in school and these standardized tests that it's really difficult to kind of meet all these expectations while taking care of myself, while taking care of my family, while working. And it's just simply exhausting. So this song does a really great job for me, of helping me kind of center myself, relax and know that I am enough

Izzy, I so appreciate you posting this. You're speaking to the emo kid in me. So, Dallas Green, I don't know if you know this. I could be preaching to the choir here, but Dallas Green is the lead singer for a postcard core band called Alexis on Fire. And so when I was growing up as a little emo kid in the Valley, they were one of my favorite groups. And particularly because of Dallas Green. His voice is just incredible

I also want to add that it starts off with some screaming, so if you can't tolerate it, I completely understand. But once you get to the chorus and once Dallas really starts shining, it's just incredible. The chorus of the song is fantastic

I love that song so freaking much. I actually remember when the album Bring Me Your Love came out and I was obsessed with it. I would play on repeat. I know at one point I had the physical CD copy of it because I was so obsessed with it. My parents got it for me. So I loved them. I love that kind of genre of music. And Elliott Smith is another person who just brilliant, like the level of brilliancy
