Is crying really a bad thing? Or is it helpful?
Something that I think a lot of us are taught growing up is that crying is a bad thing. We are taught that crying, although it's a natural response, is sometimes over, were reacting or is sometimes not necessary. We're taught that it's dramatic or excessive, just essentially that it's bad. But at the end of the day, there's a negative Association that we're taught growing up that crying is bad. This is very general, though
I am somebody who was raised to believe that crying was some form of weakness. I don't know if that was necessarily ever the intention for me to be taught this, but that's what I absorbed, mostly because my dad was very ashamed of crying. My mother died when I was young, and afterwards he was sad and rightfully so. But he refused to show that in front of me
