A time for deep consideration and empathy. #pivot #career #covid

I just wanted to respond with an observation in terms of the pivots I'm hearing about from people in my life that the common theme has to do a lot with observing the true human experience so that whatever field or vertical that you're in, you have to drop into the people behind your demographic meaning. Don't just say, oh, I'm going to serve these people and tell them my new skill set or offer a sort of a spin on what I am

Hi, Deborah, thank you so much for your response. You know, you are absolutely right. Like having that deep connection. Empathy in the workplace. That is what people are looking for. They're looking to be connected with of brands. They're making significant impact, significant social impact right now, this collective experience, you're right, has definitely gotten everyone to really look at how they bring themselves to work

Pivoting myself! And helping others transition to wfh life

And before you know it, it's 04:00 and you haven't showered and you haven't eaten lunch yet. You let the day get away from you and it can really absorb you. And if you don't have that natural break in the day of driving to and from work, it really just can create a world in which you slowly don't realize the difference between work and home. And that's what I've been trying to think about and trying to help others doing that

This is not a wave, but a tsunami.

We were fortunate enough to kind of there was a disruption in the industry where people shifted to using mobile devices for everything else. That caused a huge disruption to standard web technologies. And we were able to take advantage of that this time around. What's happening in terms of an industry shift in terms of the way it's even more massive. It's a tsunami, whole industries are being destroyed and whole kind of lines of businesses and segments are being kind of completely overhauled

Thanks for your comment on that, Phil. Very interesting. You know, you're absolutely right in terms of that barrier, that separate operation between work and life at home is definitely different right now during current times. So it'll be interesting to see what the second half of the year brings with regards to work life integration, remote work, remote organizational culture, and also how the funds, family balances, all that

Hi Irenia. So I, myself have been extremely well plugged in digitally over the last several decades, so not much has changed for me, but my kids have in the last few months grown exponentially in their digital capabilities. My little one can. She's just started reading well over the last six months or so, but she can manage multiple Zoom classrooms. She can mute and unmute. She does a lot of classroom handling herself. She's got a new vocabulary now that all Zoom

But it's amazing how businesses are transforming and evolving, especially the ones that were frontwood facing. Are there any businesses, businesses in your community, you see, that has pivotted quite a bit. That's a service business. It's

Retail to wholesale

Hey, Irenia. Yes. There's an iconic cheesecake shop called Zanzi's Cheesecake here in San Francisco, very close to where I live. And frankly, it's the the best cheesecake I've ever had. And I've had many, including New York and Europe. But I think Zhang made the best cheesecake ever. And unfortunately, now they have decided to move to a wholesale only business, which means they will no longer sell direct to customers, but rather through grocery chains

a great question from a 50,000 foot view to practical solutions

It's all the excitement and everything in between. One of the things that we did to give an example of a proactive approach to what we're doing is the CDC has recommended that restaurants have disposable menus when they can open up again, and in between the first and second wave, they were able to open up and they had to have paper menus that they tossed after every use. And it's incredibly wasteful. So what I created was a QR code bank
