How’s your handwriting these days?

article image placeholderUploaded by @DearAuntyAng
And I do have a very neat handwriting. But I thought to myself, gosh, when is the last time I actually sat down and wrote notes? And I have journals, but honestly, I don't journal every day, I've actually slacked in it. So other than writing in my journal, when do I actually formulate well thought out sentences and paragraphs?

Kids these days don’t do a lot of writing—and, neither do adults! Has your handwriting changed since computers and phones have taken over?

High school, we had to take so many notes and we had to do it all by hand. So we were used to writing a lot, and we were used to having pen pals where we wrote letters and all these different things. And so we were so used to writing our book reports and research papers. But now it's like, gosh, after a few minutes of writing by hand, my hand hurts because I'm not used to this. I'm used to typing everything out

And she said that just reading over the books and reading over the things that I said, it was really personal to her, and she really appreciated it. It's kind of scary because I didn't really think people would really pick up people things and read them, but it made her understand and tap into a place that she hadn't been. And so I just thought that was a wonderful thing, and I just thought to share that

So this way it would help him to develop handwriting skills, and he'll be familiar with writing, and it won't really bore him. It won't really seem like it's something that he's not familiar with, because when I was growing up, my mother used to say things that made me feel like education was a punishment. Like, for example, go read a d*** book. So my son is very familiar with reading, and he likes reading, and he likes writing

I'm. Hi, Tanya. So I definitely feel you on that. I do write, actually, now that I think about it. I do a lot of postit notes because I'm doing a lot of communication with people. Some of it's email, but some of it's like I'm sticking something in your mail slot and I'll put a posted note that says something. And so when I'm writing those out, they are very neat

So that's an exciting time as you enter adulthood. And I like how you said that, even because the idea that you turn 18 or even 21 and you're suddenly grown is crazy because we all develop at different levels. But I think it's okay to say we're entering into adulthood. Some are moving faster than others, but it's all good. We're all entering adulthood at that age. So I love that aspect. So thank you so much, Ms. Juicy, for chiming in

Wherever we want to go, they're open, and it's a privilege to be able to teach them that. But that's pretty awesome that you did that. You mentioned the puppy, but I don't know if your son actually got the puppy and how's that been, because my niece got a dog, I think he's seven months old. She got him when he was like three months old and it's quite a bit of responsibility

I mean, they will strike in California for somebody in New Jersey, you know what I mean? But when all you have to do is teach for a test and you're not into the critical thinking or you don't really have to be creative, just make sure the kids get this material so when they take this test, they can pass it or rank or whatever the case may be. It's just sickening. It's sickening. And I told my son, he's a fashion designer

And whenever, you know, on this app, especially or any social app where people are literally all over the world, when I meet someone that's from the tristate area, I'm like, hey, what's up, neighbor? Hey, neighbor. But I like what you said. You know, I always love the way you storytell or your way you tell stories. You are a masterful storyteller, so I appreciate listening

Yes, kids use the computer a lot, but I know for me, and I see this with kids as well, working on a computer or your phone, what have you, just doesn't really allow the same siloed, calm, independent thinking. You have all these other distractions available at the same screen, right? You could have like 50 tabs open for other things. So working on pen and paper really allows you to work in a concentrated, calm, not so scattered manner
