Van Jones - What if a presidential candidate refuses to concede after the elections?

article image placeholderWhat if a US presidential candidate refuses to concede after an election? | Van Jones
A few days ago, Van Jones did a great TedTalk on the elections and what it would look like if someone were to not concede on the day. And a lot of people here on Swell have been talking about just that. And what tomorrow night is going to look like, what the next few weeks are going to look like and this. Hey, buddy, that's my cafeteria saying, good morning to you. Anyways, I think it's a great video

We need to rip up the Constitution, do all that. Just start over because it's too many. Just like Van Jones was saying, there's too many loopholes where a President can just. And I didn't know that. I didn't know that either. I didn't know that there was loopholes where he could just say, I don't want to concede. I'm not going to have a concession speech

And this is a perfect example of that, the fact that all of us can sit here and watch this video and think to ourselves, how on Earth is this? Okay. How is it possible that somebody can purely just not concede? Surely there's a safeguard in place for that

But it is scary to think that in another 24 hours, this dude can just straight up say, I do not concede defeat and fight it and then maybe even get put back in power because I know he wants to keep wants another four years. That's a fact

I don't even know what to say about that secret process or whatever that Van Jones was talking about. I have never heard that before in my life. And then when Van was saying that the last thing you can do is the protest and that we should do it peacefully, I can't see that it's going to be peaceful protests. I can't see that his supporters are going to do it peacefully

I know that's not a popular opinion. I know people have fought me on this honestly, I've always taken him as a grifter looking out for himself. And if he throws the entire United States democracy in the gutter, I don't think he's going to care one bit. Not one bit. So I think we are in for a fight. A legal battle, no matter what. And Van Jones points out some discrepancies

And it just seems odd at this time in this moment in history that that type of information all of a sudden becomes available when that law has been there. And it just seems like somebody would have said something about this type of law. I don't know. Maybe it's because Trump is the President now. I don't know

I hope that you are right. I hope that this is fear mongering. I hope that this is all just media nonsense. But we will find out. And honestly, if the truth be told here, I think that any sort of drama that is going to ensue over the next few years few days will more than likely come from supporters that act out on their own or within their individual groups, not necessarily from the President. But again, what we'll say
