What do we really need?

But the gift of just getting a job and having to move to San Francisco immediately was I realized just how little I actually needed to be happy and be okay. And as much as I love books, and I love living in a space with a lot of books, it actually was fine that I wasn't surrounded by books for the first six months that I lived there. I did have some. I just didn't have all of them

Reflections on stuff

So we love to see certain things around us, and we forget about those things that we accumulated in the past, in the process. But I have set sort of a target for myself that when I turn 50, I'm going to give away a lot of things that came to me because of being part of this huge family where some of the elders have moved on. They've passed on and their stuff kind of gets accumulated over a period of years, and nobody knows what to do with them

My brother and I were actually having a conversation recently about how we also both want to be really mindful and intentional about that for his kids as we get older because we know what it's like when someone passes, and there's just so much stuff to go through and figure out what to do with it. And I still have some things from when my grandma passed away that we didn't want to get rid of, but we didn't know what to do with it

So I feel like maybe you can relate to that as well. So anyways, thanks for the response. I'm curious now that you are no longer living such a nomadic life. If you enjoy that more, or if you sometimes miss just living really minimally and being on the road. I also thank you for sharing more of your personal story 13 times moving that's a lot. And man, it was really cool hearing more about what you've been through personally in relation to all this as well
