Philosophy, philanthropy or hedonism - what would you pursue if you did not have to work for a living?

article image placeholderUploaded by @arish
Would you pursue philosophy, which is the love of knowledge, satisfy your intellectual curiosity, read great books and things like that. Would you pursue philanthropy, which is trying to do good for others, take up courses, or would you pursue hedonism, which is basically just other pre pursuit of pleasure for yourself? Let me know

Hire a famous band to play your birthday party, do things like that. That's definitely stuff I would do. So all three for me. I think he's are all things that appeal to me in different ways

My take. It’s a continuum.

So yeah, I think from that lens going by my experience, I would say that I'll start with more hedonistic things. I'll go philosophy, but ultimately, what will sustain would be the philanthropy part of it. I think philanthropy is more about doing something for the good of others. Normally we associate that with money. But I think the way I am thinking of philanthropy in this context is more where my time and effort is going

All stems from #giving and #connection

So I think if I had to weigh it, I would say that if you're philanthropic, you build opportunity where you're just having incredible education. And the philosophical journey begins because you're learning about different ways of life and different opportunities through your philanthropy. You also get to travel. You also get to connect with people at such beautiful levels that probably includes great evenings and great times together

G.B. Shaw said "A perpetual holiday is a good working definition of hell"

So I guess really, the question for me is, would you be like a micros Arish person? Can I pursue to spend your time and effort most of your time doesn't mean you want to charity. Again, this question is about picking one where you will spend most of your time. It kind of defines who you are, what your priorities in life
